Three people killed when an illegal alien trucker from India made an unlawful maneuver on a Florida highway this month have been identified as Haitian citizens, at least one of whom entered the U.S. during the Biden years, according to reports.
The horrifying tragedy unfolded on Aug. 12 on Florida’s Turnpike in St. Lucie County.
Harjinder Singh, 28, reportedly executed an illegal u-turn, blocking multiple lanes in the process.
Moments later, a minivan slammed into the trailer, ultimately killing all three people inside.
The driver of the van, 30-year-old Herby Dufresne, was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the Miami Herald reports.
Dufresne arrived to the U.S. in 2023 among roughly 211,000 Haitian nationals who took advantage of the Biden regime’s CHNV Parole Program, which enabled more than 530,000 citizens of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to fly into U.S. airports after receiving prior clearance.
Dufresne’s passengers, who died at the scene, have been identified as Faniola Joseph, 37, and Rodrigue Dor, 54.
Both men were also citizens of Haiti, although their immigration histories remain unclear.
All three Haitians were originally residents of Florida, but had recently moved to Indiana and were returning from a shopping trip to Miami at the time of the crash, friends of Dufresne told the Herald.
Singh initially traveled back to his home base in California following the catastrophe, but was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Aug. 16 and extradited to Florida.
He was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and three counts of manslaughter.
Singh illegally crossed the southern border into California in 2018, avoided a fast-track deportation after claiming fear of being sent back to India, was awarded work authorization by the Biden regime in 2021, and obtained a commercial driver’s license in California in 2024.
