The Trump Justice Department is reportedly considering restricting gun purchases for people who identify as transgender, following last week’s Catholic school shooting that left two children dead and 17 injured at the hands of a trans madman.
The Daily Wire on Thursday reported:
“Individuals within the DOJ are reviewing ways to ensure that mentally ill individuals suffering from gender dysphoria are unable to obtain firearms while they are unstable and unwell,” one source inside the Justice Department told The Daily Wire.
The anonymous source noted the DOJ’s discussions surround how a transgender person’s gender dysphoria could be considered a mental disorder, adding the agency is considering a “range of options.”
“Under Attorney General Bondi’s leadership this Department of Justice is actively considering a range of options to prevent mentally unstable individuals from committing acts of violence, especially at schools,” the unnamed DOJ source told the Daily Wire.
News the DOJ could restrict transgender gun buys comes on the heels of last week’s deadly Anunciation Catholic School shooting in Minneapolis, where deranged trans gunman “Robin” Westman opened fire during all-day mass, murdering two children and injuring over a dozen before turning a gun on himself.
The source noted Democrats should back the proposal since they’ve “called for common sense gun laws for a long time.”
“This seems pretty common sense to me,” the source said.
In the way of mental health, the ATF’s current firearm transaction form asks, “Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?” applying only to those formally declared mentally incompetent or committed by a court.
