President Donald Trump continued his years-long feud with Republican Rep. Thomas Massie on Wednesday, telling his Truth Social followers he hopes the Kentucky congressman loses his seat in the midterms and describing him as the “worst” GOP senator “EVER”.
In the first of two posts aimed at Massie, Trump wrote, “I predict that ‘Representative’ Thomas Massie will go down as the WORST Republican Congressman in the long and fabled history of the United States Congress,” comparing him to RINO anti-Trumpers like former Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, while throwing former loyalist Marjorie Taylor Greene in the mix.
The president turned up the heat in his next post, remarking it will be “interesting to see” how Rep. Massie votes on the SAVE Act, considering the support behind voter ID laws and other conservative-leaning provisions in the bill, like banning men from women’s sports and a ban on transgender surgeries for minors.
“He’d like to vote, ‘NO,’ but on this one, there may be too much pressure, even on him, to do that,” Trump wrote.
He continued: “Thomas Massie, sometimes referred to as Rand Paul Jr. because he only votes ‘NO,’ is A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER as a Congressman, and a Human Being. He is disloyal to the Republican Party, the People of Kentucky and, most importantly, he is disloyal to the United States of America! He is a MISFIT, who should be voted out of Office, ASAP. VOTE FOR ED GALLREIN, A MAN WHO HAS MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT. HE IS A TRUE AMERICAN HERO! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
The pair of blistering screeds followed another post Tuesday night boosting Massie’s challenger Ed Gallrein, and dumping on the congressman, claiming, “The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District… want desperately to get rid of Thomas Massie…”
“I have heard that there are other Candidates exploring a run for this seat, but I am asking all MAGA Warriors to rally behind Captain Ed Gallrein, the Candidate who is, far and away, best positioned to DEFEAT Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won BIG, ALL THREE TIMES,” Trump wrote.
In the same post, Trump later referred to Massie as a “lightweight,” and “true hater of Israel.”
While Massie long ago earned Trump’s ire by going against the Republican Party grain, his recent opposition to the Iran war, comments about AIPAC lobbying Congress, and his efforts to release files related to billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein appear to have really pissed off the president.
