Venezuelan nationals and their family members living in South Florida publicly celebrated the arrest of dictator Nicolás Maduro, praising the Trump administration for ending his reign of terror.
In the wake of Maduro’s apprehension during a historic U.S. military operation this weekend, joyous Venezuelans swarmed streets and businesses in Miami-Dade County on Saturday.
“It is a triumph of Trump. We are grateful to Trump. He is going to get rid of the communism in Central and South America,” one woman told BorderHawk.news
Another woman said she felt “happiness, pure happiness. Free Venezuela.”
One woman at a massive gas station gathering held a sign reading, “Thank you, Trump!”
“We are so happy. 26 years of corruption, assassinations, dictatorship. We are ecstatic. Thank you,” a woman wearing a Venezuelan flag hat stated.
Celebrations are expected to continue throughout the weekend.
