Image Credit: Long County Sheriff's Office A woman caught in the middle of a fight between male illegal aliens in Georgia suffered significant injuries after being struck by a sword multiple times, according to authorities.
The shocking incident unfolded on Sunday night in Long County.
The Long County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) was called to investigate an altercation at a residence at around 7:30 p.m.
Responding deputies found an adult female with gruesome wounds, including a severed hand, deep wound to the back of her head, and large gash on her upper arm, WTOC reports.
Authorities determined the victim had been attacked with a sword after getting caught in the middle of a brawl involving several suspects.
The woman was taken to a local hospital via AirEvac in critical but stable condition.
Two men identified as Hector Manuel Esparza-Reyes and Jorge Abdiel Esparza-Gress were arrested and both charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Battery.
Authorities have indicated there is a “strong possibility” that the men are related.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged detainers against both men who are illegally present in the U.S. after overstaying visas, according to LCSO.
Jorge is being held on $50,000 bond while bond for Hector has been denied, LCSO records indicate.
An investigation is ongoing.
