Joe Kent, the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) who resigned from his position last week, joined The Mark Levin Show on Monday to detail his decision to quit in protest of the ongoing U.S. and Israel war with Iran.
Kent claimed Israel is influencing U.S. foreign policy, and clandestinely infiltrated American media and politics to get the Trump administration to join in on the Iran war.
Levin harshly criticized Kent after he stepped down from his Trump administration post and accused him of leaking information about White House meetings to journalist and podcast host Candace Owens.
Just ahead of the interview, Kent joked on social media, “It’s taking Mark Levin 20 minutes to warm up, apparently he needs to work himself into a frenzy before he can let me talk.”
During the interview, Kent reiterated his viewpoint that Israel is “driving” American foreign policy decisions, causing Levin to freak out and accuse him of hating the U.S. “ally.”
When Kent cited Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s prior comment that Iran was not going to attack Israel or the U.S., but instead the Trump admin decided to strike Iran because ISRAEL was going to strike Iran first, Levin interrupted, saying, “Hold on, we’re going to do it honestly. One point at a time.”
Kent went on to say the U.S. and Iran were getting close to a denuclearization deal before Israel struck Iranian nuclear, military, and infrastructure sites in June of 2025, sparking the 12-Day War, but Levin quickly cut to a commercial break.
Levin was clearly triggered when Kent pointed out the RINO media echo chamber was more successful at lobbying President Trump than the anti-war faction of the GOP, shouting, “Hey! Pay attention to me! I never lobbied the president!”
Asked about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Kent, who previously said his agency’s investigation into the matter was put to a halt, told Levin “there were foreign leads” that were never examined and should still be looked into.
Levin questioned which country could have been involved and Kent said every nation should be investigated for a potential role in the murder.
