During a rally in Iowa Thursday, President Donald Trump announced as part of his year-long celebration of America’s 249th anniversary next year there will be a UFC fight at the White House.

“Every one of our national parks, battlefields and historic sites are going to have special events in honor of ‘America250’ and I even think we’re going to have a UFC fight. Does anybody watch UFC? The great Dana White?” Trump said on the eve of the 4th of July.
“We’re going to have a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House,” POTUS continued. “We have a lot of land there and we’re going to build a little – we’re not, Dana’s going to do it, Dana’s great, one-of-a-kind. We’re going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight. Like, twenty, twenty five thousand people…”
President Trump has attended many UFC fights over the past decade and has a close friendship with UFC President Dana White.
ESPN covered the news, writing, “The Republican president also announced a culminating festival on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and a separate athletic competition featuring high school athletes from across the country.”
The fight is only one part of the multi-year “America250” effort, starting on Independence Day 2025 July 4, 2026.
