The horrifying crash unfolded at around 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 20 in Liberty Township, OH.
Courtney Steinmetz, 28, was heading in early for a shift at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center when another driver crossed the middle divider and slammed into her Honda Civic.
First responders were forced to mechanically extricate both drivers from their heavily-damaged vehicles and Steinmetz was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The Butler Country Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) identified the other driver as Yoan Perez Ventula, a 27-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala.
Ventula was reportedly unable to produce valid identification and provided deputies with various names and dates of birth during questioning.
Deputies found an open container of alcohol in the Hyundai Elantra he was driving and charged him with aggravated vehicular assault, obstruction of justice, operating a vehicle while impaired, and no driver’s license.
He received medical treatment before being transported to Butler County Jail.
Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones, a staunch opponent of illegal immigration, published a blistering video in which he exposed Ventula’s significant criminal and deportation history and identified various jurisdictions that have allowed him to roam free and continue to wreak havoc in Ohio communities.
“This lowlife piece of s**t named Yoan has been arrested for DUIs four times,” Sheriff Jones revealed, pointing out that American taxpayers are on the hook for Ventula’s rescue, medical, and legal bills.
In 2019, Ventula was caught illegally crossing the southern border into Texas and deported.
The Guatemalan then reentered the U.S. and was arrested for assault in the Cincinnati area in 2023 and released.
Later that year, Ventula was arrested for drunk driving in West Chester Township, OH, and released.
He then racked up two more drunk driving arrests in 2024 in Hamilton County, OH, and may have more charges that remain undiscovered.
Steinmetz suffered a serious spinal injury, fractured sternum, broken right wrist on her dominant hand, and broken left ankle.
A shattered L2 vertebrae “caused a loose bone chip to go into her spinal column leaving her spine unstable for 24 hours until neurosurgery could remove it and place the pins/rods to stabilize her back. The 24 hours until surgery were excruciating, as she could not move anything without risking stability in her spine,” according to a GoFundMe established for Steinmetz by her cousin, Emma Rybolt.
“The first thing that came out of her mouth was, ‘I really hope that he’s okay,'” Rybolt told local media.
Ventula is being held for ICE at Butler County Jail and an investigation is ongoing.
Illegal alien drivers continue to destroy American lives on a near-daily basis.
