Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) criticized Saturday’s invasion of Venezuela, saying it does nothing to help the American people, in one of her final interviews as a U.S. House representative.

Speaking to NBC’s Meet The Press on Sunday, the outgoing GOP rep – who’s due to resign on Monday, Jan. 5 – said the invasion is the same regurgitated Washington regime change playbook used in Iraq and Libya, and only serves to benefit oil companies and the corporate class – not Americans.

“This is the same Washington playbook that we are so sick and tired of that doesn’t serve the American people… but actually serves the big corporations, the banks, and the oil executives,” MTG told host Kristen Welker.

“And so my pushback here is on the Trump administration that campaigned on ‘Make America Great Again’ that we thought was putting America first. I want to see domestic policy be the priority that helps Americans afford life after four disastrous years of the Biden administration. I want to see domestic policies that prioritizes jobs and affordable housing for Americans after four disastrous years of the Biden administration. And I want to see domestic priorities that put Americans first in regards of health care, health insurance costs too much, car insurance, home insurance. And these are issues that matter to Americans.

“We don’t consider Venezuela our neighborhood. Our neighborhood is right here in the 50 United States, not in the southern hemisphere.”

The Georgia representative, who was once fiercely loyal to President Trump, went on to reiterate points she made in an X post Sunday saying MAGA supporters did not vote for regime change, adding that she feared America could lose jobs to Venezuela.

“That was part of what they voted for in 2024. They voted to tear down the system that protects the rich, powerful elites, and they voted to tear down the system that consistently goes for foreign wars and regime change,” she said.

“They voted to tear down the system that does nothing for regular, hardworking Americans and only consistently props up the big banks, the military-industrial complex, and the oil executives and major, major industries.”

She added, “After this regime change in Venezuela, I fear we’re going to see jobs just move south because we’re already hearing about big corporations lining up their trips to Venezuela for the next big business opportunity while Americans sit here with no options.”

MTG also questioned the Trump admin’s stated justification for the invasion, pointing out the majority of fentanyl entering the US comes from Mexico.

In another segment, Welker attempted to corner MTG into condemning America First proponent Nick Fuentes, which she did not do, arguing she’s pro-free speech.
