Suspects wearing creepy masks left ominous Christmas-themed cards threatening residents of several Yucaipa, California, homes on Sunday night.
One card read, “Santa, I want the head of a Nazi under my tree,” with another stating, “Merry Christmas and fuck you Nazi.”
A third card simply stated, “You are warned,” along with a future date and time, insinuating that is when something is going to happen to the home’s occupants.
ABC 7 reported the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is increasing patrols in the area and aired security footage of one of the messages being left on a front porch by an individual with a mask and “Punisher” jacket.
A local man told the outlet the messages “were in Christmas cards, but all of the stuff they were putting in it were stuff that you’ve been hearing from Antifa.”
Other cards left by the group read, “Eat the rich. Fuck the pigs. Kill that Nazi,” and “All Nazis Die! Trump will burn in hell.”
Most of the recipients couldn’t figure out why they’ve been targeted, telling ABC 7 they don’t display any political signs or affiliations.
“What did I do?” asked one man who wondered if the American flag outside his home may have triggered the apparent leftists.
“It really does feel like a bit of a hate crime,” said another neighbor who also suggested American flags in front of houses could have inspired their being targeted.
However, not all of the properties that received the threatening messages displayed USA flags.
CBS News reported a home security camera captured one of the suspects spitting on a Tesla in the neighborhood, again hinting the culprits are liberal.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the matter.
