After eight months back in the White House, President Donald Trump has deported 400,000 illegal aliens while 1.6 million have self-deported, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media churns out an unending stream of sob stories portraying sympathetic illegal aliens being arrested or deported.

The goal is to make Americans feel guilty about all this detention and deportation and thus wear down support for it.

Let’s look at the big picture.

It’s inevitable that sympathetic characters are getting caught up in this campaign. Our immigration system has been abused for decades, so shaking it up and putting it back in order was bound to make it difficult for some people.

Millions of Americans make bad choices and end up in jail or with bad health or in bad relationships or hooked on drugs or in otherwise dire straits.

But the media seems more interested in foreigners here illegally.

All of us in this Vale of Tears we call Planet Earth have made bad choices. I know I’ve made my share.

People make poor financial, career, educational and relationship choices. And we pay the consequences.

But we move on and try to improve our lives.

Millions of foreigners, encouraged by various political and economic forces, chose to enter our country illegally. Now the jig is up and they are being removed.

But hey, it’s not the end of the world. They can start over in their home countries.

The sob stories are pushed by the mainstream media to guilt trip you about illegal aliens being detained and deported.

Here’s a recent example provided by “independent visual journalist” Sandi Bachom:

“The Aftermath. Clutching his mother’s hand, a bewildered child cries ‘Papa. Papa. Papa.’ In a matter of seconds, families shattered, hopes betrayed, trust breached, hearts broken. As a family leaves the court hearing, a father is grabbed by masked and armed ICE agents.”

Yes, that’s tough on the wife and kids.

But there’s no reason it has to be a permanent family separation. If the father of the family gets deported to his home country, the wife and children should follow him there.

Besides “family separation,” another way to tug on heartstrings is to bemoan the fact that some illegals get deported after residing in the U.S. for decades.

Here’s a headline from Newsweek: ICE Deports Florida Pastor’s Wife After 30 Years in US

This one combines the Many-Years Motif with the Christian Card.

The article is about a preacher’s wife who was deported back to Mexico after living illegally in the U.S. for decades.

What should her husband do?

How about moving to Mexico and preaching there? Aren’t Christians supposed to preach the Gospel in all nations? Sounds like a mission opportunity!

In a story from California, a homeowner complained that his two gardeners were working outside his home when they were suddenly detained by ICE.

“I just think that’s wrong,” the employer of illegal aliens complained.

“This is not the way we treat people, and this is not the way this country should be acting.”

Sorry buddy, but you have three options:

1. Hire Americans to do your lawn work.
2. Do it yourself.
3. Dump sand on your lawn and make it a desert. It’s easier to take care of!

We’re also told by the media that it’s bad to return illegals to their own home countries.

The Trump administration has ended Temporary Protected Status for Haitians.

In response, Rep. Frederica Wilson (FL-24) stated, “Deporting Haitians back to Haiti is a kiss of death.”

That’s the same Rep. Wilson who previously tweeted about the “rich culture of Haiti.”

I have it on the authority of Conan O’Brien, Bill Maher and Susan Sarandon that “Haiti Is Great Already.”

“If it’s safe enough for Conan O’Brien, it’s safe enough for the Haitians to go back home,” prominent Oklahoma Republican Nathan Dahm tweeted in response to Rep. Wilson.

There are plenty more examples of sob stories in the mainstream press.

Don’t fall for them and explain what’s really going on to others.
