On Tuesday the Kremlin officially responded to President Donald Trump’s reduced deadline for a Russian / Ukrainian peace plan. On Monday President Donald Trump reduced the deadline he gave Russia and Ukraine to make a peace deal from 50 days on July 14 to just 10 to 12 days. The penalty Trump is threatening Russia with is 100 percent tariffs.
“We have taken into account President Trump’s statement yesterday,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday, going on to note that while Russia’s military operation will carry on, Moscow remains “committed to the peace process to resolve the conflict around Ukraine and to ensure our interests in the course of this settlement.”
The deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, told Senator Lindsey Graham that the conflict will be resolved only when Moscow’s goals are achieved.

Trump’s playing the ultimatum game with Russia: 50 days or 10… He should remember 2 things: 1. Russia isn’t Israel or even Iran. 2. Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war. Not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country. Don’t go down the Sleepy Joe road!

“I’m going to set a new deadline… about 10 or 12 days from today. There’s no reason to wait. I wanted to be generous, but we’re just not seeing any progress,” Trump said Monday. “I’m not so interested in talking anymore.”
Trump announced on July 14 that he will levy a 100 percent tariff on Russia if it fails to make a peace deal with Ukraine within 50 days.
Trump made the comments at the White House while meeting with NATO’s secretary general, Mark Rutte.
“We’re very, very unhappy with them, and we’re going to be doing very severe tariffs, if you don’t have a deal in 50 days, tariffs at about 100 percent, they call them secondary tariffs,” The President said July 14.
Trump is disappointed with Russian President Vladimir Putin because he wanted him to make a peace deal months ago. He said thought he had a deal with Russia on the Ukraine war “about four times. And here we are still talking.”
