Jewish Zelensky Celebrates Hanukkah While Also Being Allied With Neo-Nazi Azov Battalion

"Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Zelensky has not been shy about his heritage, even referencing it in a plea to the Israeli government for financial and military support in the early stage of the invasion," The Jewish Chronicle reported in 2023.

While the Jewish/Nazi hypocrisy may appear to be a recent phenomenon, the two disparate group's connections go back to the very roots of the German National Socialist Party itself.

Ukraine’s Jewish Dictator Vladimir Zelensky kicked off the Hanukkah season with a social media post featuring a festive message and an image of a 9-candle menorah – eight lights for the nights of the holiday plus a ninth ‘helper’ candle. Unfortunately for Zelensky, no amount of ceremonial candles will change the fact his government is allied with the Azov Battalion, a neo-Nazi group of fighters who defend Ukraine against the Russians, similar to the Nazi defense against the Soviet Union in 1940’s Ukraine.

During these days, Hanukkah candles are being lit to mark the beginning of the holiday, which carries especially profound meaning in times of war. A light that does not fade even in darkness. Faith that helps endure. The unity of people who support one another when it is hardest.

May the Hanukkah lights bring warmth and peace to every Jewish family’s home, and may they give strength and faith, a sense of support, and calm.

We extend our greetings to the Jewish communities of Ukraine and to all Jews on the occasion of Hanukkah!

News publication The Jewish Chronicle chronicled Zelensky’s Jewishness in a 2023 article titled “How Jewish is Volodymyr Zelensky?” which documented that while the Dictator is indeed Jewish, he is not too Jewish.

“Tsyba, a childhood friend and now MP in Zelenksy’s Servant of the People party, says Zelensky rarely mentioned his Jewish background and it was not something people talked about,” The Jewish Chronicle reported in 2023.

Zelensky has however used his Jewishness to ask Israel for money.

“Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Zelensky has not been shy about his heritage, even referencing it in a plea to the Israeli government for financial and military support in the early stage of the invasion,” The Jewish Chronicle said.

In 2022 Infowars reported on a battle that Azov lost and detailed the group’s Nazi symbology.

“Interestingly, the Azov Batallion’s logo uses the Sonnenrad, which is a Nazi symbol used by both the Buffalo mass shooter and the Christchurch shooter,” Kelen McBreen wrote on Infowars. “The Azov unit is the specific brigade of the Ukrainian military associated with the massive neo-Nazi movement popular among many of the country’s nationalists.”

Another 2022 article on Infowars, written by Jamie White, detailed the bizarre Nazi rituals the Azov Battalion engages in:

Bizarre video out of Ukraine circulating Twitter shows the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion performing pagan “blood and soil” rituals to herald war with Russia.

Meanwhile, Ye was banned on the platform for sharing an image of a hexagram intertwined with a right-facing swastika, a religious unification symbol by the Raelian Movement.

The ritual from 2017 involves Azov soldiers cutting open their flesh, jumping into a pit in the ground and rubbing their blood into the soil to honor Perun, the Slavic god of thunder and sky, before erecting a totem pole into the pit.

In 2024 former U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson touted the Azov brigade as “heroes” while proudly holding up their Nazi flag.

The Canadian government has also publicly embraced classical Nazism and real life Nazi fighters themselves. In 2023 entire Canadian Parliament gave a standing ovation to a 98-year-old Nazi Waffen-SS soldier for his valiant service to The Third Reich.

While the Jewish/Nazi hypocrisy may appear to be a recent phenomenon, the two disparate group’s connections go back to the very roots of the German National Socialist Party itself.

In 2008 Alex Jones exposed the deep historical links between Nazism, Zionism, Judaism and the state of Israel.

Zelensky has managed to thread the fine line between the oppressors and the oppressed of the Holocaust, attending memorials of the Nazi genocide while also supporting the groups responsible for the genocide:

Ironically, Zelensky is seen in the warm embrace of the Jewish State’s leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, who is himself accused of running a genocide in Gaza.

Jewish group Chabad explained the roots of the celebration of Hanukkah (also called Chanukah):

In the second century BCE, the Holy Land was ruled by the Seleucids (Syrian-Greeks), who tried to force the people of Israel to accept Greek culture and beliefs instead of mitzvah observance and belief in G‑d. Against all odds, a small band of faithful but poorly armed Jews, led by Judah the Maccabee, defeated one of the mightiest armies on earth, drove the Greeks from the land, reclaimed the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and rededicated it to the service of G‑d.

When they sought to light the Temple’s Menorah (the seven-branched candelabrum), they found only a single cruse of olive oil that had escaped contamination by the Greeks. Miraculously, they lit the menorah and the one-day supply of oil lasted for eight days, until new oil could be prepared under conditions of ritual purity.

To commemorate and publicize these miracles, the sages instituted the festival of Chanukah.

According to The Atlantic Council, Zelensky likes to keep things diverse, picking a Muslim defense minister, Rustem Umerov.

“While Umerov is a strong candidate in his own right, his status as a member of Ukraine’s Muslim Crimean Tatar minority makes his anticipated appointment particularly significant on a symbolic level. Once Umerov is confirmed, Ukraine will have a Jewish President and a Muslim Minister of Defense, underlining the diversity of the country’s leadership while exposing the absurdity of Russia’s ‘Nazi Ukraine’ propaganda,” The Atlantic Council said, seemingly forgetting that the paradox of hypocrisy exists.

Zelensky’s Islamic choice is likely a wise one, as Muslims have a rich heritage of fierce warriors. Their prophet Muhammad was one of history’s most notable military generals. Islam, which means submission to Allah, is based on the practice of Jihad – the never ending struggle to assure all humans submit to Allah.

“The two broad meanings of jihad, non-violent and violent, are contrasted in a well-known Prophetic tradition. Muslim tradition reports that, when Muhammad returned from battle, he told his followers ‘We return from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.’ The greater jihad is the more difficult and more important struggle against one’s ego, selfishness, greed, and evil,” John L. Esposito said in a paper published in the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. “Jihad is a concept with multiple meanings, used and abused throughout Islamic history. Although it has always been an important part of the Islamic tradition, in recent years some Muslims have maintained that jihad is a universal religious obligation for all true Muslims to join the jihad to promote a global Islamic revolution.”
