A child sex predator and convicted murder who were both in the U.S. illegally were captured by federal immigration agents in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts on the same day.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just released details about the apprehension of Antony Araujo earlier this month.
ICE agents tracked Araujo down in Fall River and took him into custody on Dec. 19.
Araujo is a Brazilian national with prior convictions for rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, and possession of child pornography, ICE says.
“There are few crimes more disturbing than the rape of a child, and no person more disturbing than one who would prey upon the most innocent members of our communities,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston Acting Field Office Director David Wesling stated.
“ERO Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by working tenaciously to arrest and remove criminal alien child sex predators from our New England neighborhoods.”
On the same day, ICE Boston arrested Oeun Lam, a Cambodian illegal alien with convictions for murder, armed robbery, and armed assault.
