During a hearing with the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. debated with Democrats and Republicans, exposing the politicization of the COVID-19 pandemic.
When Texas Senator John Cornyn (R) asked Kennedy if he believes Covid was politicized, the HHS secretary said, “The whole process was politicized. Senator, I mean, we were lied to about everything. We were lied to about natural immunity. We were lied to about, you know, we were told again and again, the vaccines would prevent transmission. They’d prevent infection. It wasn’t true. They knew it from the start. It wasn’t true because that’s what the animal studies in the clinical trials showed. We were told that there was science behind cloth masks.”

“The CDC allowed the teachers union to write the order closing our schools, which hurt working people all over the country, and then pretend it was science-based,” he continued. “President Biden said in August, ‘I would never take that vaccine, the Trump vaccine.’ And he came in, he mandated it, and then he fired the two top health officials at FDA who said, hey, this thing has not been properly tested. So the whole process was politicized even today.”
Meanwhile, accusing Kennedy of harming children, Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) harshly told RFK Jr., “I hope you tell the American people how many preventable child deaths are an acceptable sacrifice for enacting an agenda that I think is fundamentally cruel and defies common sense.”
The Trump official clapped back, telling Wyden, “Senator, you’ve sat in that chair for how long, twenty, twenty five years while the chronic disease in our children went up to 76% and you said nothing! You never asked the question, why is this happening?”
At one point, Kennedy detailed the latest CDC numbers that show over 76% of U.S. citizens have a chronic disease, which is a 73% rise since 1950.
He also noted that America’s health has become a national security crisis as eight out of ten U.S. children cannot qualify for military service, and revealed the government spends over a trillion dollars yearly fighting chronic disease.
“We are the sickest country in the world! That’s why we have to fire people at CDC! They did not do their job. This was their job to keep us healthy,” Kennedy added.
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) shouted at RFK and claimed he changed the classification of the COVID vaccine so that people can’t get the shots from their pharmacists, and he responded, “Most Americans are going to be able to get it from their pharmacy for free.”
When she alleged he “promised” everyone who wants a Covid jab would be able to get one, he answered, “I never promised that I was going to recommend products with which there is no indication. And, I know you’ve taken $855,000 from pharmaceutical companies senator!”
Warren again accused Kennedy of taking Covid shots away from people who want one, and he said he’s “not taking them away from anybody,” adding, “You want me to indicate a product for which there is no clinical data?”
Arguing with Senator Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) after being called a liar, RFK asked the politician, “Are you saying the mRNA vaccine has NEVER been associated with myocarditis or pericarditis in teens? Is THAT what you’re trying to tell us?!”
At one point, Kennedy was forced to deal with an extremely ignorant individual in Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.), who was unable to comprehend the fact that Congress has access to public scientific studies.
A frustrated RFK ended up yelling at the senator, “You’re not understanding how the WORLD WORKS!”
After Senator Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) attempted to pin the shooting of the CDC headquarters earlier this month on Kennedy because the shooter reportedly espoused anti-vaccine sentiments, the HHS secretary pointed out, “Every member of this panel has criticized President Trump and demonized him,” asking, “Are you complicit in the assassination attempts on President Trump?”
Vice President J.D. Vance commented on the hearing via 𝕏, writing, “When I see all these senators trying to lecture and ‘gotcha’ Bobby Kennedy today all I can think is: You all support off-label, untested, and irreversible hormonal ‘therapies’ for children, mutilating our kids and enriching big pharma. You’re full of shit and everyone knows it.”
Popular actor and podcast host Russell Brand wrote, “The destiny of the Kennedy family and your Great Country are entwined. Secretary Kennedy is a political phenomenon – a near miracle – a modern leader willing to confront entrenched power. He needs our support and we need him.”
