Fired MSNBC host Joy Reid emerged Tuesday bashing the feckless Democrat Party and calling for it to find a new figurehead – even if it’s loudmouth Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas).
“I’ve been a Democrat since I was old enough to vote, you know, but I’m barely hanging on,” the former host of MSNBC’s “ReidOut” told “The Breakfast Club” podcast, going on to say she’s on the verge of leaving the Party because current Democrat leaders aren’t doing enough to rebuke the Trump administration.
“Honestly, because at this point, the Party is not bigger than the future of my kids. You know what I mean?” Reid told host Charlamagne tha God (AKA Lenard McKelvey).
“Like I have three children, I have a daughter and two sons that have to live in this country as black people and fascism don’t work for me, you know, and I’m not willing to cede the country to Trumpism and MAGA simply because I’m clinging to this Party, you know.”
Reid went on to point out many Party apparatchiks were upset with former Biden White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announcing her new Independent Party affiliation, “but I’m not mad at that because I’m like, ‘At this point…who cares what the Party label is? Give me an effective fighter.'”
“If Jasmine Crockett is the most effective fighter, give me Jasmine Crockett. And I really don’t care what you have to move around or who you have to disappoint in order to give me her, just give me her because we need a leader.”
For months Crockett has been making headlines for her race-baiting and vocal opposition of President Trump and the MAGA agenda.
Trump earlier this year took an axe to Crockett during a National Republican Congressional Committee dinner, saying Democrats were in serious trouble if she was “their new star.”
Trump followed up his criticisms of Crockett on Tuesday in a post mostly aimed at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), calling the Texas congresswoman “a seriously Low IQ individual,” and saying she was unqualified to be in Congress.
Indeed, the fact that Crockett and her cringe antics are even being considered for a leadership role shows just how desperately Democrats are scraping the bottom of the barrel – yet another sign their party is truly in shambles.
