The Federal Bureau of Investigations has launched a criminal probe into former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, after an analysis detailed their manipulation of intelligence amid the Trump-Russiagate saga.
According to Fox News Digital, CIA Director John Ratcliffe this week reportedly referred the two Obama-era intelligence community heads to FBI Director Kash Patel’s office for possible prosecution.
Citing sources, Fox News Digital reported: “The sources said that the referral was received and told Fox News Digital that a criminal investigation into Brennan was opened and is underway. DOJ sources declined to provide further details.”
“It is unclear, at this point, if the investigation spans beyond his alleged false statements to Congress,” Fox News added – referring to Brennan’s repeated claims that the infamous Steele dossier did not serve as the basis for the Intelligence Community Assessment, which suggested Russia attempted to help President Trump win the 2016 election.
Fox News reports the sources did not shed light on what the investigation into Comey could entail.
News of the criminal probes into the top Deep State figures comes as a CIA analysis last week criticized the Intelligence Community’s flawed claims that Russia attempted to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, noting “lessons learned” via the tradecraft issues and “multiple procedural anomalies.”
“The review found that Brennan directed the compilation of the ICA, and that his, Comey’s and Clapper’s ‘direct engagement in the ICA’s development was highly unusual in both scope and intensity’ and ‘risked stifling analytic debate,’” wrote The New York Post’s Miranda Devine.
“All the world can now see the truth: Brennan, Clapper and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals — all to get Trump,” Director Ratcliffe wrote on X following the analysis. “Thank you to the career @CIA officers who conducted this review and exposed the facts.”
