Conservative Christians React To Trump Portraying Himself As Jesus

The President reposted an AI image of himself depicted as Jesus healing the sick, stirring contention among his conservative Christian base.

Following President Donald Trump’s Sunday night social media post of an AI image with him depicted as a Jesus-like figure bringing healing light to a sick man, rightwing and Christian commentators voiced their outrage at what they deemed as blasphemy.

Trump deleted the post Monday.

Infowars also covered the President’s attack on the Pope for his pro-replacement migration stance.

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene pointed out that Trump’s Jesus-like post came during Orthodox Easter, after he said “Praise be to Allah” on Roman Easter as well as “a whole civilization will die tonight” days later:

On Orthodox Easter, President Trump attacked the Pope because the Pope is rightly against Trump’s war in Iran and then he posted this picture of himself as if he is replacing Jesus. This comes after last week’s post of his evil tirade on Easter and then threatening to kill an entire civilization. I completely denounce this and I’m praying against it!!!

Jack Posobiec quipped that he’s waiting for Trump to post an image of himself as the Prophet Muhammad – likely an executable offense under the Sharia:

Brilyn Hollyhand, one of the youngest conservative commentators, said that the post gives ammunition to Trump’s political detractors:

This is gross blasphemy.

Faith is not a prop.

You don’t need to portray yourself as a savior when your record should speak for itself.

The same God who saved Trump’s life from that bullet sent His son Jesus to die for our sins.

He died for Trump just as much as for you and I.

To Hollyhand’s point, leftwing commentator Harry Sisson said the image Trump posted appears to be “of himself as Jesus Christ healing, what appears to be, a young Jeffrey Epstein.”

Other accounts altered the image, replacing the face of the sick man with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

An0maly said Trump shows more grace for his political adversary, Bill Clinton, than for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He posted a video of Trump saying he likes the former Democrat President and wishes that Congress was not going after him for the Epstein files:

Trump has more grace with Bill Clinton than he does with Jesus Christ.

He blasphemes Christ, mocks Christ and tells people to lay off the Bill Clinton / Jeffrey Epstein stuff.

Riley Gaines asked why the President would post such a picture:

Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this. Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this?

Either way, two things are true.

1) a little humility would serve him well
2) God shall not be mocked

MAGA Meghan was left speechless by the post:

I have no words.

I stand with Trump, I love my President, but as a Christian, I’m speechless.

Maybe he doesn’t realize how deep this picture looks or would represent, but I can’t condone this.

I have no words.

At the end of the day, Trump is man, not Jesus.

Wow.

Infowars reporter Jon Bowne said:

Trump going after the Pope on Orthodox Easter isn’t politics. It is Biblical trench warfare. Whether he is invoking Matthew 24 or not is kinda moot.

“many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”

“False Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”

I hope he knows what he signed up for. Shew wee.

One alternate theory of the image was proposed by Dom Lucre, who posited that the image may portray Trump as the Pope, not Jesus, as Trump had just criticized the Pontiff:

Is it possible that President Trump depicted himself as a Pope and not Jesus? The Truth Social post came shortly after he made a statement against Pope Leo.

This theory is unlikely however, as the image was originally posted by rightwing author Nick Adams in February, before Trump’s recent criticism of the Pope:
