Two of the four individuals suspected of murdering Infowars journalist Jamie White have had their capital murder charges pulled.
According to independent journalist Breanna Morello, the two individuals in question have had the charges dropped because they are both minors.
At time of writing, the new charges facing the two minors—named as Eloy Camarillo and Rodney Hill—were yet to be disclosed.
Jamie White, a veteran reporter for Infowars, was fatally shot in the head by the suspects outside his South Austin apartment on 9 March after he attempted to interrupt the theft of his vehicle.
Investigators used surveillance footage, license-plate scanners and triangulation of cell-phone data to track the suspects.
“We do not believe that Jamie was targeted,” said APD homicide detective Jason Jones.
“Instead, we believe this is a very unfortunate and tragic series of senseless events… involving the four individuals who obviously have no value for human life.”
Court documents claim Rodney Hill released a rap song about the killing, referencing the victim’s race.
Police found audio recordings on Hill’s cell phone of a person they believe to be Hill rapping about the killing.
Some of the lyrics included a mention of White’s name and referenced what happened, including “White boy came outside / Hit his damn a** with a 9.”
