Prosecutors in Rochester, Minn., are going forward with charges against mother Shiloh Hendrix, four months after she was filmed hurling the N-word toward a child and a man during a confrontation at a playground in April.
On Tuesday, the Rochester City Attorney’s office said it’s asking a district court judge to review three counts of disorderly conduct against Hendrix, amounting to a maximum of 90 days in jail and/or a fine of $1,000.
The complaint stems from a viral video in April shot on a Rochester playground in which a Somalian man filmed Hendrix after she reportedly called a child – who had stolen her property – the N-word, before also calling the man filming the N-word.

“[Shiloh] wrongfully and unlawfully engaged in offensive, obscene, abusive, boisterous, or noisy conduct, or in offensive obscene, or abusive language that would reasonably tend to arouse alarm, anger, or resentment in others,” the city attorney’s complaint states according to KTTC.
The complaint continued:
“This matter involved a large amount of evidence and required careful consideration of potential charging options across multiple offices. Additionally, under Minnesota law, prosecutors are required to involve and consider the perspective of the crime victim. Given the sensitive and complicated nature of this case, along with the high level of public attention, completing the necessary reviews and conversations with the victim’s family took longer than usual.
“The City Attorney’s Office remains focused on the legal process and is committed to ensuring a fair process. We will not speculate on the length of the court process or the potential outcome.”
Rochester Mayor Kim Norton claimed the viral video negatively impacted citizens, who demanded accountability:
“This was a situation that deeply affected many people, especially our communities of color, and caused real turmoil in our community,” shared Mayor Kim Norton. “We acknowledge the lasting impact this incident has had, not only on those directly involved and across our community, but also in the broader conversations happening at the state and national level. These moments remind us of the complexity and far-reaching impacts of situations like this. The City remains committed to staying engaged and proceeding with transparency and care, continuing efforts that support accountability and progress in Rochester.”
Following the incident, leftists launched a coordinated harassment campaign against Hendrix, exposing her social security number and address.
The doxxing prompted the embattled mom to launch a GiveSendGo fundraiser seeking donations to relocate and rebuild her life that raised over $800K.
The funds could help Hendrix secure a strong constitutional attorney to challenge the city’s charges on First Amendment grounds.
