President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he’s sending the National Guard into Chicago at some point, noting the decision “isn’t political” and that he has “an obligation” to save U.S. citizens from being shot and killed in the streets en masse.
He boasted of his success cleaning up Washington, D.C. and suggested Illinois’ Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker “needs help badly, he just doesn’t know it yet,” adding, “I will solve the crime problem fast, just like I did in D.C. Chicago will be safe again, and soon. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Responding to the Trump press conference, Mayor Johnson blamed POTUS for allegedly allowing “tens of thousands of guns to be trafficked into” his city.
“These guns come from red states,” he said. “Occupying our city will not solve this problem.”
Continuing to blame Republicans and firearms, Johnson claimed, “Chicago will continue to have a violence problem as long as red states continue to have a gun problem. Shootings will continue as long as this presidential administration continues to put politics over people.”

Johnson claimed that the gun violence in his city was Trump's fault, as he talked about guns as if they were sentient beings.

Next, the mayor said he wrote a letter to the Biden administration after a mass shooting in Chicago two years ago asking for federal agents to go after gun traffickers, and that gun crime went down after the request was granted.
Meanwhile, Johnson is furious about President Trump sending in federal agents to address the city’s crimewave directly and refused to admit to liberal MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough that an additional 5,000 police on the streets would help combat crime.
In fact, the Democrat politician recently encouraged Chicago citizens to “rise up and fight tyranny” if the National Guard is sent into the city.
Governor Pritzker also chimed in at the press conference, claiming there is no crime emergency in Chicago despite dozens of people being shot every single week with nine being killed last weekend alone.
Pritzker said in a recent interview that citizens should just get used to being shot in their streets and homes as crime is part of living in a big city.
“Look, big cities have crime. There’s no doubt about that. But, let’s just pay attention to what President Trump is doing targeting Chicago. He’s overlooking red states that have much higher crime rates,” the governor said.
No amount of Democrat whining will stop President Trump from addressing the out of control crimewave plaguing U.S. cities.
