Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were conducting targeted operations in St. Paul on Wednesday morning when an illegal alien they tried to pull over “began driving recklessly and ran red lights,” according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Alexander Romero-Avila, a Honduran national who was released into the U.S. by the Biden regime in 2022, eventually crashed into multiple cars, including an ICE vehicle.
“Law enforcement immediately called 911 to get medical assistance. No members of the public or ICE officers were injured in the crash. The illegal alien was taken to Regents Hospital for evaluation of injuries,” DHS explained.
A hostile mob quickly gathered at the scene and began berating federal agents.
A witness stated that she saw Romero-Avila climb out of the window of his damaged vehicle and flee on foot, hopping a fence before being caught by an ICE officer brandishing a Taser.
Illegal aliens and radical leftists have become increasingly violent in their resistance to immigration law enforcement.
“These dangerous attempts to evade arrest have surged since sanctuary politicians have encouraged illegal aliens to evade arrest and provided guides advising illegal aliens how to recognize ICE, block entry, and defy arrest. Our officers are now facing a 3,200% increase in vehicle attacks,” stated DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.
