The shocking incident unfolded at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning in Queens.
NYPD was alerted about a mob wreaking havoc at the intersection of 69th Street and Eliot Avenue.
Witness footage shows a ring of fire raging as drivers performed donuts and burnouts in front of cheering participants.
An individual can be seen waving a large Palestinian flag from the window of a SUV that narrowly avoided striking bystanders.
“This is insane,” said NYC native and political consultant Ryan Girdusky.
“This is a sleepy middle class neighborhood in Queens. I’ve literally never seen something like this here in my life.”
Individuals in more than 100 vehicles fled the scene as officers arrived to break up the unlawful gathering.
“I’ve seen the videos of the car takeover at 69th Street and Eliot Ave, and it’s disgusting. We are not putting up with this garbage in our neighborhood,” stated NYC Councilman Phil Wong (D-Queens).
“This kind of reckless behavior is an attack on our quality of life, and it cannot be tolerated.”
Three subjects jumped on an NYPD patrol car, shattering its windshield, Wong said.
No arrests were made and just one citation was issued, according to the latest available information.
“I appreciate the work our cops do, but they need backing from elected officials, DAs, and judges. Too often when they take action, they’re second guessed or you see elected officials and activists calling for them to be fired instead of supported,” Wong asserted.
NYPD will reportedly be deploying more assets this weekend, including drones and helicopters, to combat such activity.
