Image Credit: @TheInsiderPaper / X screenshot Just weeks after Chinese Communist Propaganda was championing a new bridge as proof that China is a decent country, a different new bridge collapsed due to its poor foundation and lack of geological considerations.
“Part of a recently opened bridge in China’s southwestern Sichuan province collapsed on Tuesday along a national highway connecting the country’s heartland with Tibet, according to local authorities cited by Reuters. No casualties were reported,” Inside Paper said Tuesday.
The bridge was just months old when it came crashing down.

The bridge was shut down prior to the collapse due to cracks beginning to form around the most concerning areas.
Police in Maerkang city had already closed the 758-meter-long Hongqi Bridge to traffic on Monday afternoon after cracks were detected on nearby slopes and roads, and ground movement was observed on a nearby mountain, the local government said.
By Tuesday afternoon, conditions on the mountainside deteriorated further, triggering landslides that caused the approach bridge and roadbed to give way.
A social media user had this to say on the bridge collapse:
I see a lot of people joking about the collapsed bridge in Sichuan. I get it, that’s social media.
But the collapsed bridge represents the all pervasive uncertainty and lack of safety that I know many people in the PRC experience daily. Baby formula, restaurant oil, infrastructure, your child’s school building, your child’s school lunch, your own apartment building- there is no way to know if anything is really safe.
And if anything happens to you, there is no path to righting that wrong. Look at Zhao Lianhai or the parents of children whose schools collapsed in the Wenchuan earthquake. The system cracks down on those who raise their voices rather than those who endanger and terrorize their fellow citizens.
And that is why, beyond all the gullible influencers with the silly LED lights, everyone knows that the CCP system is irredeemably flawed and unsustainable.

China’s ability to upsell their infrastructure with cheap LED lights was not left out of the discussion:

While China flounders at home, a CCP-shill-bot army wages propaganda war abroad. Recently footage of an uncollapsed bridge and train station made their way around Western social media (websites blocked via Chinese-style net censorship).
Because China has an uncollapsed bridge and train station, some in the West seemingly turned a blind eye to China dragging anti-vaxxers out of their homes, holding them down as they force-vaccinatedthem kicking and screaming. The bridge and train station also diverted talk on China away from Beijing’s genocide of the Uyghurs. But hey, “it must be nice to live in a real country.”
China's poor geological surveys and bad construction lead to new bridges falling down, where are the "must be nice to live in a real country" propagandists now? pic.twitter.com/7h0WjhZPJL
