Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller, 80, who led a two-year probe into Trump-Russia collusion in the 2016 election, is reportedly residing in a memory care facility.
The stunning update came in an X post from Real Clear Investigations’ Paul Sperry, reporting Mueller, 80, has been subpoenaed for FBI testimony in the Jeffrey Epstein case.
“NEW: House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed Robert Mueller to appear for a Sept. 2 deposition to provide details from an FBI investigation of Jeffrey Epstein from decades ago — even though sources tell me Mueller has been living in a memory-care facility for the past few years,” Sperry wrote, offering no further details.
Mueller’s probe was triggered by the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation – launched partly based on allegations made in the infamous Steele dossier, which prompted surveillance of Trump associates and influenced the ill-fated Intelligence Community Assessment recommending a wider probe – however, the special counsel failed to uncover evidence of a criminal conspiracy and Mueller was later forced to testify under oath on his findings.
Commenters on X highlighted Mueller’s frail appearance and halting responses during his 2019 congressional testimony, arguing he could not possibly have been mentally fit to run the special counsel probe, and noting Democrats appear to have a penchant for picking dementia-ridden officials (such as Joe Biden) – perhaps as a clever strategy to avoid accountability.

Mueller was a vegetable during his hearing. Like Biden, he wasn’t in control. it was Weissman and his team of Clinton lawyers at some 30 million who ran the investigation.

In simpler terms, Mueller was likely warned about an upcoming investigation, prompting his lawyers to arrange his admission to a facility. Similarly, the Clintons team is probably already working with "doctors" to fabricate a medical report for them.

If Sperry’s reporting is accurate, Democrats could have yet another autopen scandal on their hands — or will the investigations ultimately turn up fruitless?
The House Oversight Committee is nothing but a joke. “Investigate” everything, subpoena everyone, watch them ignore the subpoenas, do nothing about it, and those that do appear plead the 5th, and it all just dies right there.
